Welcome, 2022

Hello and welcome back for another season!

We have all your favorite veges – freshly grown and harvested right here – and if we can’t grow it we make sure we have you covered with supplies from other dedicated growers.

This year we are proud to announce some other local artisan suppliers to our stall options – (sorry, but not always available via the online shop) and some that have been with us for some time – keep an eye on our Facebook page to hear about them.

Just a couple of notices – sorry to say we no longer have Bullet Couriers operating in Western Southland – so if you live off the main road, we will need you to supply a drop off point/address for the couriers – just like we do in all other areas now.

At this stage we are unable to make it to the Southern Farmers Market this year because of too many other commitments  – but as I said before we have and are adding in many other local artisan suppliers to make the stall a real destination😊

Please note this year we have also had to increase our packing and freight charge as we are no longer able to absorb those extra costs.

Keep safe, everyone, and know that we are doing our bit to keep everyone safe during these challenging times.

It’s the end of our season …

As many of you know our Vege season is just about finished.  We usually run from the start of February until the end of August.

Because of the current Covid situation, we are playing it by ear.  Be aware that some lines of produce have run out or are soon to run out.

Our Vege garden is done!

The final day in the shop will be Tuesday, September 7. We will reopen in early February 2022.

We’re just glad we’ve been able to get everyone through level 4 lockdown🤗

We do really appreciate your custom during the year and we’ve started sowing seeds for next season.

Best wishes from Dave and Kathy Wilson

End of season nears …

We are beginning to draw near to the end of our vege season.  The paddocks are looking empty, the frosts have done their damage and spring is about to kick in with regrowth.

Sunday, August 9 is our last Farmer’s Market for the season.

The Stall and our Internet ordering will continue for a few more weeks – we will keep you informed when we decide the end date will be.

Vege delivery update

As life has slowly returned to the new normal and our stall is fully functioning again and our busy schedules are kicking in  — alas our free local delivery from Winton to Wallacetown and everywhere in between will be ceasing.

You are still able to get your orders delivered in Winton and Wallacetown and along the state highways via the courier service – but with an $8 charge/box.  If you still need assistance with deliveries in our local area but are not on a courier route – please email or message us regarding this as we can still assist.  If there is still demand for deliveries to Hedgehope we will do them only on a Friday afternoon.

Also, we now have Bluff Couriers doing deliveries all the way up through from Lumsden to Queenstown and all the way down through Cromwell, Alexandra, Roxburgh, Raes Junction, Tapanui and back through Gore – all in the same day for only $8/20 kg box – so if you live in the Central Otago area a great new opportunity for you has opened.

We are still waiting for the Farmers Market to begin again.

Thank you so much for supporting our local business during this time and hope to still be of assistance to you all  — whether by our online service or face-to-face in our stall.

Heading for a new normal

You will see a few new changes with our website as we move into the new normal.

We will have our credit card system back up and running inside the ordering system so you will be able to pay directly through it, or via internet banking.  You will no longer have to wait for the friendly phone call from Kathy. 😊

Due to more automation of the system – please use the address you wish your vegies to be delivered to as your shipping address – even if it is a drop off point!  This is very important!!

We have hopefully streamlined the freight routes – but we will determine which is the best courier for your order ultimately in the end with your shipping address provided.  If you definitely want a company – just mention in comments.

Great news – we now have AZAP couriers back on deck to get deliveries back up through to Kingston and beyond.

We are looking to get the stall up and running during the week – with contactless systems in place.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding during this strange season we have all found ourselves in and we look forward to continuing to supply you with our fantastic produce – either by freight or back through the stall.
